June 30th 2012

It is the first week in Mombasa and I am having so much fun! The Academy is so pretty and I enjoy it very much. We had orientation all this week and we learned about Kenya and its people. On Thursday we went on a site visit to a despensary, a hospital and a school. All of the kids in the school were so happy and they were waving and when we entered the classroom, all of the kids stood up and greeted us with big smiles, I was so happy that they were happy. It really warmed my heart to see all of the smiling faces of the kids. We also went to jamatkhana on Friday and it was beautiful! All of the people were so friendly and welcoming, Karibu! It is almost 120 years old and it does not have many people that go there. The Jamatkhana in Kuze was so nice and pretty. It has 2 floors. I really look forward to the other great experiences and I also hope to share them in the future!
